Dick van Balgooij, Director of Sidekick-IT, and Marcel Damen, Director of Horizon Internet Technologies, have formalized the collaboration between their two companies. Since January 1, 2020, they have been working together in an official partnership.

New Technologies

From a technical perspective, the companies complement each other perfectly. Sidekick-IT focuses primarily on developing portals, while Horizon Internet Technologies specializes in the “backend” of solutions. Many of these are based on emerging technologies such as Blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Fair Care

The partnership began with the development of Fair Care, a system that registers home care contracts transparently using blockchain technology. The execution of these contracts is monitored and validated via apps and Near Field Communication (NFC).

“It is unacceptable for funds intended for healthcare to be misused or poorly allocated. Innovations like Fair Care offer tremendous potential to ensure that available resources end up where they belong — in delivering effective and legitimate care,” said Damen.

Fair Care will go live in early March in the municipality of Gilze Rijen, with Dongen and Waalwijk to follow. In total, over 2,000 care recipients will be connected to the system.

BLOCKTRACTS Platform

The strength of this partnership will, of course, also benefit existing clients. In addition, both companies are working on the further development of the BLOCKTRACTS platform — a solution for building a scalable and efficient blockchain infrastructure quickly and easily.
