Customer Challenge

Since 2022, SBB has been actively advancing its digitalization and automation strategy, with a strong focus on maintaining a single source of truth.

By working with multiple platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform and Dalux, SBB aims to eliminate the fragmentation of production drawings and documentation. They strive for seamless collaboration between planners and site managers, where digitalization truly delivers practical value.

For this reason, SBB approached Horizon IT. They requested a solution that would enable automated data exchange between MS SharePoint and Dalux, with speed and reliability being critical success factors.

Our Solution and Approach

To address SBB’s requirements, the Horizon IT team implemented the following approach:

  • In a short Teams workshop, we mapped the desired workflow in detail, enabling us to provide an accurate estimation of the required development hours.

  • The necessary connectors for integrating Dalux and MS SharePoint were already available within the HORIZON VIEW platform, allowing the integration to be implemented rapidly.

  • In close collaboration with SBB, we then configured and finalized the workflow.

Result

After testing and implementing the integration and workflow between Dalux and MS SharePoint, SBB now benefits from a fully automated process that:

  • Seamlessly synchronizes documents between Dalux and MS SharePoint based on predefined criteria;

  • Significantly reduces waiting times;

  • Virtually eliminates manual document transfer between planners and site managers;

  • Ensures a clear single source of truth across the organization.

This solution not only increases operational efficiency but also reduces costs and strengthens data reliability within SBB.

Oeds de Meer:
“The collaboration with Horizon IT has been fast and pleasant. Responsiveness and service orientation clearly come first at Horizon IT. In the coming period, we will further test and roll out the current workflow within the HORIZON VIEW platform. In addition, we are exploring whether we can deploy the platform for additional use cases.”
