Data Conversion for Straatman

This project is an example of automated data CONVERSION.
Client challenge
Straatman uses a dedicated software solution for its engineering processes and an ERP system for article and inventory management. Both systems rely on much of the same data.
To make this data available in both environments, Straatman had implemented a workflow that required extensive manual processing of XML files from the engineering platform to the ERP work orders.
Straatman employees reported spending 16–20 hours per week on this manual task. In addition to being time-consuming, this approach was also error-prone.
Our solution
After a short joint analysis, we at Horizon Internet Technologies advised Straatman that this process could be fully automated. We proposed an Agile, phased approach that allowed us to adjust functionality after each two-week sprint, ensuring flexibility and tight cost control.
In the first phase, we designed the complete solution. By the end of that stage, we confirmed the feasibility of the desired system.
In the second phase, we delivered a working Proof of Concept, validating that the solution worked effectively in practice.
In the final phase, the software was further optimised and extended to include additional functionality requested by Straatman.
Result
With the new solution, data between Straatman’s engineering system and ERP can now be automatically synchronized—quickly, easily, and accurately.
This saves significant manual labor and associated costs while improving the quality of planning data.
