Automated export functionality from Dalux for Cordeel

Horizon IT transformed a time-consuming but essential process into a fully automated workflow, enabling as-built documents to be exported from Dalux to a Microsoft Azure cloud storage environment. These documents can now be downloaded directly by Cordeel’s clients.

Cordeel is an independent, family-owned company with a rich history dating back to 1934. Starting out small, the company has always maintained a strong focus on personal attention, long-term relationships, quality, and service. This determined approach has brought Cordeel to where it is today: a European player with control over every aspect of the construction process.
Within Cordeel, Naomi Voshol-van Lierop and Danny de Ruiter worked on optimizing various digitalization processes. A key component of this effort was improving the as-built documentation, with efficient digitalization at its core. Naomi has since moved on to another company, but she made a clear and valuable contribution to the application developed by Horizon Internet Technologies on behalf of Cordeel.
Client challenge
At the end of each project, Cordeel delivers the final versions of all project documentation to its clients. In the current workflow, sharing these as-built documents from Dalux with clients is time-consuming. It involves significant manual work, and temporary workarounds are not desirable. Cordeel indicated that this way of working had become an urgent issue for which they had been seeking a solution for quite some time. Their goal was to enable clients to download these documents directly via a shareable link.
Our solution
To arrive at an efficient and fast solution in close collaboration, Horizon Internet Technologies proposed developing an export service. This service is fully automated: the as-built documents are exported from Dalux to a cloud storage environment. Cordeel expressed a preference for Microsoft Azure as the cloud platform.
Result
After developing and testing the export service, Cordeel now has a tool that enables all as-built documents to be downloaded fully automatically via a secure download link—both by Cordeel itself and by its clients.
This solution not only saves Cordeel a significant amount of time but also simplifies the process of delivering this data to clients in a structured and reliable manner.
